EVA LARUE QUOTES

American model & actress (1966- )

Eva LaRue quote

I think I want to stick to jewelry. Perfumes are for the bigger media stars, and I think that works well for them. I don't think you have to be a big star to have a jewelry line; if something's pretty, I think people will want to buy it.

I love New York City for its energy. Pebble Beach, Carmel Beach and that all area, for its completely laid back energy. Paris for the charm, shopping and the glamour.

When Joe and I got married two years ago, we were both super strictly Paleo and we were shredded for the wedding! All of our wedding pictures consequently turned out fantastic. I wish I could say I was as thin now as I was then!

When someone gradually leaves your life, that's one thing because you get used to the end of it. When somebody disappears, it takes all of your control away. It leaves you frantic.

I don't watch a lot of TV. I am madly in love, I'm a big sap, I'm madly in love with Extreme Makeover Home Edition. I cry every week.

AMC [All My Children] launched my career and changed my life. I got married there and had my baby there and made so many close friends. I am so sad that it is going away. It is a part of television history. Pine Valley is a part of America. It breaks my heart. That role taught me how to really be an actress. It introduced me to a man who gave me my daughter. That is something that I am eternally thankful for and will always be.

I did not know there was any controversy. I don't get a lot of time to read the fan forums, etc. I was thrilled to have the opportunity to have more storylines. I was just so happy to step in and pick up some of the slack for Emily while she was pregnant. It was so important for Emily to concentrate on her health and the well-being of her baby. In the end ... she is a great mother and her baby is adorable. I did not realize there was any controversy. LOL!

I know first-hand the challenges that come with being an on-the-go mom, and I am constantly looking for great products that fit into my busy schedule. I've tried every goop and elixir known to man.

I have a rule of thumb now and that's that somebody [she dates] has to have been married and they have to have had kids. Everything boils down to perspective. If your potential mate does not have the same perspective that you do then you're going to be lost.... If somebody has never been married, they don't know compromise ... [and] if they don't have children, they don't know the absolute self-sacrifice it takes and what it means to be a parent.

It's tough. We don't have a character-driven show so I think the fans get really frustrated because they don't get to see any consistency in terms of what's happening romantically. We kind of just have to take it with a grain of salt. It shows up where it shows up.

All My Children taught me a great work ethic; you work so hard on a soap opera! It is a good way to start in the business, get success without getting a big head and learn your craft.

Yeah, I feel sort of unfinished in New York, even though I spent so many years there. I think it's because I never got a chance to do any Broadway, or even off-Broadway. I would love to do that and I haven't given up on that.

EVA LARUE

interview, The Celebrity Cafe

We would have sometimes 50 pages a day on the soap. 50 pages a day would be a normal day on the soap so by the time you get home, you start studying again for the next day. You're so brain-dead that by the end of the week you can barely remember your own name. While you're doing it you don't realize how hard it is because it's your day to day routine, but once you've stopped doing it, you think to yourself, how did I ever do this for as many years as I did? Oh my god, the amount of constant pressure and stress that you feel is mind numbing. It really is tough. It's also really rewarding. It's like a big family over there at the soap.

Emily Procter getting pregnant changed the show for me. I got so much more involved, which was so much fun! Now I feel like an action figure Barbie.

We have made some great strides in terms of treating various types of cancer with early detection. The success rate of recovery for many people today is better than it was a decade or two ago so we can't give up. Yes, we would all love a quick "cure all" but that is not reality. Until then, we all are in this together and we have to keep working towards more progress!

I loved my time on All My Children. That show was a family to me. I am so sad that daytime is slowly fading away. I owe so much to daytime. I learned so much about my craft and I made so many wonderful friends there and I am so sad that it is all going away.
